CLASS: " THE HEART OF JESUS CHRIST"

Scripture Ref: Mark 9: 33-37
Purpose: Children need to be taken care of.
Study Notes:
1. Disciples concerned about position, status and power.
2. The heart of Jesus--if any man desires to be first, the same shall be last of all and servant of all.
3. Jesus is a Giver.
4. Received a child in His name (Giver).
5. Accept the gift.
6. Humility is giving.
7. Capernaum was the home to Peter, Andrew, James, John, and Matthew.
8. Jesus selected this town as the center of his public ministry in Calilee.
CLASS: "IT'S JESUS"

Purpose: Jesus Only!
Study Notes:
Transfiguration - a dramatic change in appearance, especially one that reveals great beauty, spiritually or magnificence.
1. Elijah & Moses was NOT transfigured.
2. Peter's statement "make three tabernacles" was mixing the covenants.
3. Elijah & Moses represented the Old Covenant; Jesus represent the New Covenant.
4. "This is my beloved Son, hear Him" God said "It's Jesus".
5. Hear Him, His way, His truth, and His life.

CLASS: JESUS IS A FINSHER

Scripture Ref: Mark 8:35
Purpose: Don't let anyone stop you from accepting the finish work of the Cross.
Study Notes:
1. Are you living beneath your priviledges?
2. Stop walking in your condition and walk in your position.
3. Make a list of the things that are blocking you from finishing.
4. Who are the Peter(s) in your life?

Definition:
Leaven - Rising agent used to make dough rise (Hebrew) - Boiling up.
Study Notes:
1. Examples of Life "leaven" - worry, stress, fear, concern, nervousness, wrong thinking.
2. God knows your belief system.
3. The law is destroying your faith.
4. Is God having a hard time breaking your leavens?
5. Flesh is self righteousness and self effort
CLASS: WHAT IS COMING OUT OF YOU?

Are you already deflied?
Definition:
To make filthy or dirty; pollute; to debase the pureness or excellence.
To make unclean or impure, corrupt, violate, taint; to tarnish the brightness of; to make unfit.
Within - inside place; inside the body or mind; intention.
Study Notes:
1. Life brings out of you what is in you.
2. God allows: Problems, situations, circumstances and issues to happen to reveal what is in you.
3. Self-discovery - Don't be to anxious to get somebody out of trouble until you discern the Will of God.
CLASS: "THE SYMPTOM OF A HARDENED HEART"

Scripture Ref.: Mark 6:51
Definition:
Symptom: Indication of a disease or other disorder, a sign or indication of the existence of something. Especially something undesirable.
Hardened: Toughened by experience; something that most people would find unpleasant or difficult.
Study Notes:
1. The more your avoid your feelings, life situations, and changes, the more vulnerable your heart is to become hardened.
2. The more you allow Christ into your life (situation), the softer your heart should become. (Note: Your experiences should make you BETTER, not BITTER.
3. When there are more "I"s and "You"s in your conversation, instead of God, it an indication of a hardened heart.
4. A cynical person is a person with a hardened heart. Here are some signs of a cynical person:
a). Don't consider their blessings (always look at the bad, never the good. Always waiting for something bad to happen. Wake up everyday, just doing you!)
b). Doesn't look at or understand the process. (Don't take time to look or see how things are developing. What is going on? How are things going to affect/effect me)
c). Fear - Causes you to shut down your heart. Live in a constant state of embrace.
d). Amazement - Not amazed by the blessing (Glory) of God. Think things just happen.
CLASS: "Be Not Afraid" (Delay doesn't mean denied)

Scripture Ref.: Mark 6:45
Afraid: Frightened or apprehensive about something.
Reluctant: Feeling, hesitation towards something; feeling regret about some things.
Study Notes:
1. God saw the struggling (v. 48). He knew what was happening to the disciples. When He was ready, He delievered them out out the situation.
2. Not knowing Jesus produces fear (The disciples hung with Jesus, but did not know Him).
3. When afraid, you CAN'T think straight.
