Sis. Deborah Whealton, Deaconess Ministry

“For you, brethren have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as opportunities for the flesh, but through love serve one another.” Galatians 5:12 (NKJ)

Mission Statement:
As Deaconess our mission is to stand upright before God our Father. To aide and assist the Pastor and First Family. We serve the church with compassion and love, loving one another as we love ourselves. In confidentiality we will be a gateway between Ministers and Leaders to the congregation. Always remembering our senior saints and visiting the sick and shut in; comforting those in times of distress and assisting wherever necessary. To prepare and serve the Lord’s Supper with all diligence and giving praise and glory and honor to God our Father through Jesus Christ.

A little about me:
I am a single parent raising two children ages 17 and 8. When I think of a Deaconess I envision an older woman, who is married with grown children running around the church checking females hem lines and making sure the males are wearing their pants pulled up with a belt on. I, never in a million years, envisioned myself in this position. God really does have a sense of humor!! It just proves that God uses anyone, if you allow Him. Just ask for and obey His will.
